Snowy Saturday...

So yesterday the BF and I decided to do a quick trip to Cincinnati to hit up Nordstrom and the Cheesecake Factory. Cincinnati our friendly friend to the North is so close and has so much more to offer than Lexington in terms of entertainment, food, and shopping that its crazy. Lexington shopping is pretty dismal and having no bigger department stores (Saks, Nordstroms, etc.) it makes it harder to find exactly what you are looking for. I have been trolling the online sites of the bigger box stores in search of a pair of nice black flats. I have found flats that are patent, suede, and bezzled flats but I couldn't find just a pair of simple black.

Knowing that Nordstrom had just opened in Cincinnati I pulled up their website and I finally found what I was looking for. Being nervous about (everything) buying shoes without trying them on the BF and I set out on a quick day trip (UK was playing UofL at 3:30 so we had to be back in time to watch) in search of my flats. When arriving at the mall we were both surprised at the size (huge mall) and how nice and new everything was. This was by far one of the nicer malls that I had been to and I had no idea that it was just an hour down the road.

I knew it was going to be a successful trip because we got a fantastic parking spot (it snowed the whole way we were driving) and it wasn't overly crowded. We made it to the shore section (they definately had a big selection) and I found the pair that we had come for. I tried them on and I was super excited that they fit and looked right (I was so excited about these shoes and I was hoping that I wasn't going to be disappointed).

When the sales associate brought out the shoes he also had pulled two other pairs of shoes that he thought I may like. Not wanting to be rude I opened the boxes and was like "he obviously didn't get the memo about me wanting a pair of simple black flats.

He couldn't have been more wrong! Even the BF was like, those are terrible.

Suggested Option #1: Awful

Suggested Option #2: Even Worse

I had no idea what to even say when I opened the boxes. Sparkly snake skin meets grungy plaid high-top.

After the quick sit-down at Nordstrom the BF and I wandered out into the mall in search of the Cheesecake Factory. We found it and had a nice lunch and even took a not-so-small treat home with us. I think the Cheesecake Factory and the doggie-bag was the highlight of the day for the BF.

Stefani's Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake. Yummy!

Overall it was a fantastic day and the CATS won! I hope everyone has a great day back tomorrow, try and stay warm!

Happy Sunday,
LOVE, MKH
