Hair Emergency...

I hope everyone has had a great day. It is still snowy and cold here, and I am so ready for Spring. Last week in the midst of V-Day mayhem, super cold temps, and other things my beloved straightner died. Yes, thats right it went KUPUT!

Over Christmas I was telling Mommy TX about how great my straightner was, I was literally raving about it. The night that I got back to KY I went to touch up my hair and it wouldn't turn on, I was able to fanagle and twist the cord to where it would get hot enough to do the job but every time I would go to fix my hair I would get a bit nervous in fear of it finally dying.

Well last week it finally happened and my favorite hair accessory bit the dust. The straightner (RIP) had been my BFF since my junior year in high school, literally for 7 years. And trust me if you had seen my hair pre-flat iron you would have wanted me to find one ASAP. My straightner made it through 4 years of college, several road trips, and numerous close calls with the floor, so in reality my straightner was over 100 years old. Despite all of the close calls and the many times she was overheated she was a trooper and helped me through many humid and rainy days.

She worked so well for almost 7 years!

Last Thursday night I came to grips with the fact that she wasn't going to get hot anymore so I decided that I would have to break down and replace her. It was snowy and cold and not knowing where to go I went to the mall and went to the only hair place I knew of. I forgot to mention that my original straightner decided to die in the middle of the hair fixing process so when I went to the mall my hair looked similar to the photo below.

Granted my hair isn't that long but you get the idea...

I went into Regis (I wouldn't reccomend going there but I was desperate) and I found the newer version of my old straightner. I was so pleased and super excited to get home and fix my matted mop of hair I could barely stand it. I have been using the new one for almost a week and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. If anyone is in need of a new straightner I would highly recommend the Paul Mitchell one that I purchased. It was definatley worth it, and you can check it out HERE.

My new BFF.

All is well on the hair front and I am so glad that my hair is back to its normal straight self. Lets just say that my curly is a HOT MESS, the picture above is tame compared to what it looked like pre-flat iron. Oh well, that is a whole other story for a whole other day!

I hope everyone had a great hump day and is getting excited for the weekend

Happy Wednesday!

V-DAY RECAP

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day. It started snowing on Valentines night here in Lexington but that didn't stop the BF and I from having a wonderful dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Portofinos. Dinner was fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the long weekend. I thought I would share some of the goodies that were exchanged. I will say that the picture quality is a bit poor, I am in the market for a new camera and am taking suggestions if any of you have a great recomendation.

The BF and I exchanged gifts on Friday night and we were both so excited.

2000th UK Win numbered print for the BF

Signed by John Calipari- only 350 made.

I was super excited to give the BF the UK print. I had pestered the man at the gallery from where it was purchased so much I think he was ready for me to get my print and be done. I think he was definatley happy to see me walk away with receipt in hand. It was a bit ironic that the BF also gave me a UK print of sorts. I was so touched by the gift, it was by far one of the best gifts that I have ever gotten (and yes it trumps the Louis V. bag that he got for me for Christmas).

Picture does not do it justice. LOVE LOVE LOVE

It is hard to tell, but inside the UK are photos, ticket stubs, and even parking vouchers from some of the places and venues that we have visited since we have been BF/GF. It was so thoughtful of the BF to do something so heartfelt. I LOVED IT!  I even received a new kitchen edition with some sweet treats from Mommy/Daddy TX.

Full of yummy goodies!

Overall it was a fabulous V-Day and the CATS won on Saturday night so that was even better.

I hope everyone had a great V-Day and is staying warm- I am truly hoping that the snow melts soon. I am ready to move to a warmer climate.

Happy Tuesday, GO BIG BLUE

GO BIG BLUE!!! Part Deux

As I posted last night this morning was the taping for ESPN's College Game Day. It was a great time to see old friends and to get into the UK BLUE Spirit. The BF and I (along with friends) got to Rupp this morning about 10ish and there were already tons of people there. The ESPN crews were already set up and the band was playing the Fight Song and when looking around I was so proud to have graduated from the University of Kentucky. I was able to snap a few pics in between all of the cheering.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

As most Lexingtonians know, tomorrow is a huge day for UK Basketball. ESPN College Gameday is coming to Rupp Arena and the BF and I along with friends are going to be attending. I will be sure to post pics of the day, and maybe if we are lucky we may get to be on TV, that would make the whole day worthwhile.

Until tomorrow's post I will leave you with this funny picture. It rings true:)

Please notice the big UK player in the back with the headband, he is my favorite!

Have a great Saturday and GO BIG BLUE!

E's Superbowl

One of my favorite networks E! is having there own Superbowl of sorts tonight. Kim Kardashian of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Kendra Wilkinson Basket of Kendra (both E! shows) are cheering on their signifcant others. Kim's BF is Reggie Bush is a huge NFL figure playing for the Saints and Kendra's hubby plays for the Colts. E! News has said that both of the women will be cheering on their favorite players from sky boxes at the game.

I tried to find photos of Kim and Kendra in their respective jerseys but came up empty-handed so I guess red carpet shots will have to do.

I hope everyone enjoys the SuperBowl and the munchies that go along with the festivities.

Happy Weekend,
