Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day....

I hope everyone is having a "thankful" day with family and friends. I am so thankful for so many things this year. As this is my first holiday away from my old Kentucky home my heart is heavy but I am thankful for Husby and his wonderful family. We had a wonderful meal and are enjoying some relaxing down time. With Thanksgiving Day almost behind us I am counting down the days until we travel back to Kentucky. The daily countdown at work has started and I'm beyond excited to get back to Lexington. For Christmas (I know Thanksgiving isn't over yet and I have already cracked and told the gift) I gifted Husby with UK basketball tickets. If you haven't read my blog before Husby is BEYOND obsessed with the UK Wildcat Basketball team/the coach/the players/ and all things royal blue and white. A small part of him died the day that we moved to TX as the accessibility to the Cats became much more limited.

Enough Christmas talk as I have always felt sympathy for the Thanksgiving holiday as people seem to rush through the day in order to put up their Christmas garb. The lights in Dallas have already been lit and it looks like it should be December (and its been that way for a few weeks now)granted it s still 72degrees and sunny but you can't have everything. Poor Thanksgiving has always been overshadowed, it's like the step-child holiday that is just a stepping stone to something bigger, better, and more sparkly, (not really but you get the analogy.)

What are you thankful for?

What Im Loving Wednesday...Puppy Style

Happy Wednesday...

I am so ready for the weekend that I can hardly stand it. I feel like this week has been dragging by and I am ready to relax this weekend and just get caught up on things around the house. I am planning on making my first batch of Christmas goodies this weekend as a test-run and I will be sure to post about the progress. As I posted last week our Christmas cards arrived and I have spent the past few days stuffing, addressing, and stamping them. Lets just say that it has been a work in progress. I am so thankful that I was diligent enough to maintain an excel file of all addresses from the wedding invite purge that it made addressing them so much easier. Note to self to keep all addresses updated:)

I'm thinking that there are a few letters to Santa in the pile...

In an effort to still catch up on all of the things that have been happening since moving to the Big-D I had almost forgotten to share that Husby turned one year wiser a few weeks ago. Granted, I didn't blog about the special day but I was there to coax him to smile before he opened his birthday gifts. Photographic evidence below...
I pretty much held the gifts hostage until he agreed to smile for the camera. I only took three pictures so he came out unscathed as far as I'm concerned. He was beyond thrilled with his gift (DFW Drive Your Dream) and he was so excited to relax and watch UK Football. Happy 29 years young CWG I am so glad that you were born:)

I know that I have mentioned that since moving to the great state of Texas I became a mother of sorts and we now have another dog. Her name is Hazel and she is almost 5 months old. We had her female surgery two days ago and were able to bring her home yesterday. Me and my limited knowledge of all things canine related I was expecting her to be drowsy, incoherent, and lazy. She is typically very lazy and prefers to lay on the couch with Chad so I assumed that she would return to her normal routine, but after getting her home she wouldn't sit still and was running and jumping (big No-No) and wouldn't settle down. As full of energy as she was she did calm down for a mini-photo shoot. So on this Wednesday I am loving that Hazel posed for pictures less than 24 hours after her doggy procedure. (I said that I would never be the person that posted obnoxious pictures of their animal but I am going to give myself a free pass just this once!)
And just so I am not showing any favoritism Hagen also wanted her picture taken...

As it is clear that Hazel has posted up to her rightful place on the couch and is perfectly content to stay there, the couch is another battle for another day. I hope everyone has had a great first half of the week and Happy Thursday!

Wedding Part #2- Formal Wedding Pictures & Bridal Portraits...

Happy Monday...

Husby and I traveled this weekend and it feels good to be home that I can hardly stand it.

In an attempt to catch everyone up on all things wedding related I am wanting to share the pictures from the big day. I am beyond pleased with the wedding photos and cannot wait to see the final shots and put together our photo books. We had a wonderful photographer that has an impeccable eye. He has worked with everyone from Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, the Tennessee Titans football, and of course MKH-G so I felt like I was in great hands to say the least. He was able to take my bridal portraits in April in Nashville at Carnton Plantation and I was so thrilled with how they turned out. From all of the expenses that are incurred with a wedding I can honestly say that hiring a professional photographer (no matter the price) was worth it. Prepare yourself for photo overload...

It is hard to say what was my favorite part of the day being that it was all so wonderful. I remember thinking that I wanted to enjoy the last few moments in Kentucky with friends and family before jet-setting off to Turks & Caicos (another story for another day...) and beginning my new life in Texas. We chose Lexington because it did and always will hold a special place in our hearts. The first move that I ever made (yes I lived in the same house that my parents brought me home from the hospital to until moving into the dorms circa 2005) and it was home for almost six years. I think that we both will always be a bit biased when it comes to Lexington and we are already planning a day trip when we are visiting my family at Christmas. Watch out Lexington MKH-G is back and ready to hit the town (as in eat at Pazzos and visit Mallory).

I hope everyone had a great weekend and I am beyond excited because my Christmas cards are due to arrive tomorrow. I have been chomping at the bit since have our photo taken a few weeks ago. I will give you a sneak peak below, as if you hadn't seen enough of me tonight!

Yes I am a mother and yes my children are dogs...
This is as close as I could get to matching outfits...
Happy Tuesday!
